Citizen Shay

Citizen Shay is a web site of a guy, I would consider a friend, that I used to work with. He is a very talented creative director at an i-agency in Chicago. On his site you can see some of the art he has created and even purchase it. I purchased one of his "el" signs and I really like it. I whole-heartedly recommend his work, for what that's worth.

3Hive

3Hive is a great music site where you can grab some mps and check out new artists. They post good ole-fashioned mps for artists that they like. And, I am quoting here, "because we link directly to the official label and artist websites where we found these links, you won't have to worry about the RIAA breathing down your neck." Good to know that you can check out some interesting music without worrying about johnny law confiscating your iPod. The site has various genres of music, so there is something here for everyone.

As previously stated in the quote, they also have links to the bands' sites, when available. So you can check out the band, get their info, and maybe join their street team. Although I think you have to be 16 or under, female and hot.

The Nittany Line

The Nittany Line is a sports blog, specifically with a Penn State bent. I really liked their previews of Penn State's opponents, but then I am a hard core college football fan. Their Notre Dame preview seemed pretty balanced and not really the homer-type 'we're gonna kick ass stuff.' I did enjoy their comments about ND in general.

Boortz.com

Boortz.com is a web site for a syndicated radio host, that I think is based out of Atlanta. While for the most part he is your usual Linbaugh-like conservative, there are times when he takes a centrist view on things. He seems more balanced than Limbaugh, Coulter and their ilk and there are times when I agree with what he says.

Click on the "Today's Nuze" link for his daily blog.

Deadspin.com

Deadspin.com is a sports related website that chronicles the various happening in sports and sports media. It mixes sharp criticism and sarcasm and often time has me laughing at lound as it takes well-deserved shots at athletes and the media that cover them.

CTA Tattler

CTA Tattler is a blog that documents all the wierd and unusual people/things that are seen on Chicago's CTA system. although it seems to focus primarily on the el. I am sure that everyone who has ever ridden the el or a bus can relate to some of the stories. You can also submit your own experiences for them to post.

Frog Review

Frog Review is a site that provides usability reviews of websites. The catch is that the reviews are done by frogs that discuss the good and bad points of the sites. Even though it is little disconcerting to have frogs talkng about a website, the reviews are pretty insightful. Anyway it is better than reading some usability dissertation by Jacob Nielsen.
