Pandora.com

My first entry is Pandora.com.

I may have already told some of you about it. This site is part of the Music Genome Project, which attempts to analyze music and classify it at its most fundamental level.

At Pandora, you create a station by entering a song or artist. The site then creates a playlist of songs that share the same attributes as the song/artist you entered. As you listen to the songs you can let them know what you liked and what you didn't. The site learns from this and plays more of what you like and less of what you didn't.

You can create a number of playlists and/or keep adding to playlists you have already created. The site is free and it is a great way to listen to new music. 'Cause lord knows you can't really discover new artists listening to most radio stations nowadays, especially in Chicago.
